Giving Back

We at SBCC feel an obligation to give back to our community; donating our time and expertise to numerous organizations and communities. Giving back represents a core SBCC value, and one we encourage in each and every employee, associate, and business contact.

Through a singular and collective focus with like-minded individuals, SBCC helps students and young professionals lead productive lives and become great leaders for the next generation. Our philosophy is to support education and the communities where these students and young professionals live, work and play. To help cultivate new philanthropic role-models who will inspire others to give back and to create a high-profile, mutually supportive charitable community that works together, SBCC has developed the following:

Mentoring

The value of a good mentor is immeasurable. Good mentors help to empower the leaders of tomorrow with information that will prove valuable down the line. Moreover, the best mentors introduce their new recruits to others within an organization and industry. As time goes on, professional mentoring often becomes a two-way street by offering benefits to both teacher and student.

Pro Bono Advisory

SBCC strives to make a positive impact where information can be shared, individuals can be empowered, and a difference made. SBCC has been pleased to contribute pro bono advisory work to municipalities, industry associations, foundations and academic institutions, among others.

Projects have included building strategies, addressing problems, designing or re-designing financial transactions, and hedges, assisting with leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning, implementing best practices and providing education.

If you are in need of pro bono advisory work, please contact us.

Giving to Organizations

SBCC strongly encourages its employees to contribute their time and skills to advisory boards at educational institutions, non-profit organizations and institutes that promote thought leadership and otherwise assist society. SBCC is proud to have supported employees who have devoted time to The National Science Foundation, The Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics, New York University, Columbia University, Yale University and Stanford University among others.
